life is but temporal, all that we are treasuring on earth are but temporal and passing, our health, our riches, our achievements, these are all useless in the next
life.

of consent; we relocate all over the world, preferring to
live anywhere but home,
yet we still agonise over our local sports club; we own many
things, and still feel we don't have enough; we believe in discipline at school or at work, but we all have a right to «let ourselves go» at the weekend; we tolerate everything, except people that don't agree with us.
What so many Catholics seem to be saying is that, so far as we can determine with our unaided human intellects, according to even the «metaphysically modest» version
of neo-Darwinism, there is no real plan, purpose, or design in
living things, and absolutely no directionality to evolution;
yet we know those
things to be true by faith.

of life left in him
