I decided to play on the sweet side of things a little more.

The dessert selection is somewhat scant, with a couple selections erring on the sweet side (spiced pudding sounds intriguing, with half the sugar listed); some other sound positively outrageous: The oatmeal cookies (making them); molasses cake; halvah chocolate bars (must make them for my daughter who goes gaga for all things halva); anise rings (I pray this recipe finally turns some recalcitrant American palates onto anise).

My husband likes things a little on the sweet side — so he loved it!

Optional: pinch of organic stevia leaf powder (if you like things a little on the sweeter side... these cookies were NOT super sweet)

However, I tend to go on the less sweet side of things, so I'll even cut the measurement of your sweetener in half.

You could easily make it sweet and creamy by substituting cream in for chicken broth, but I usually opt for things that are on the lighter side, so I like mine with broth.

The fun thing about this side dish is that you can actually veer from the sweet and savory flavor profile and indeed put an earthier spin on it.

The funny thing is that I never tried galette before, but kept seeing them all over Instagram, and somehow I knew I'd love them though I'm actually not on a sweet side at all (well, if you don't count fruits and chia puddings as those).

It was a bland tofu - based mousse, barely sweet, not even for me who likes things on the less sweet side.

A sweet - and - spicy sauce brings it all together — use a liberal amount of pepper flakes if you like things spicy or go easy on them if you like to keep things on the mild side (that would be me!).

I totally hear you on the sweet side of things.

And If you have time to cook roasted sweet potato baby kale sun dried tomato lasagna with homemade faux mozzarella cheese with artisan bread on the side on a weeknight, I have one thing to say, «can I come over for dinner?»

It's a little on the short side, but many sweet things are.

The black and white does lend things a melancholic air, though it's not so dazzling that we can't imagine it'll look just fine on the small screen in color too, and the sour - sweet mix, so important to this kind of comedy, errs impressively, if not always convincingly on the sour side, with very few moments of kindness not undercut by something meaner, until we get to the small uplift of the final moments.

It's supposed to show where we taste different things, like salty on the side of the tongue, sweet in the front, bitter in the back.
