atheism and I have to agree that some of you are very childish (in addition to being hateful, petty & devoid of compassion for others) but I don't

think atheism will just come
about, as part of the process.
its not really
atheism or religion that I have a problem with, its the hate, control, and fear that goes along with it that I have a problem with, you say that those who are spiritual are into new agey, crystal ball, stuff, see that's what I'm talking
about, you assume to know what something is
about when you don't understand something you naturally fear it, your self righteous clouds you, don't you get that by being narrow minded in your view towards things, you really act no better than religious fundamentalists, being spiritual is a lot more than just the new agey,
think positive all the time that you
think it is, its
about being aware of who you are?
I just really
think that the simplistic counter-reaction is not enough — much of what I read
about atheism and its adherents these days comes down to a pretty simple and straightforward ideology.

think a lot of people assume here that her writing this was to foster «
atheism» when in reality it was
about her surviving and thriving... finding her «own» path within the the highly dogmatic and structured religious organization known as AA.
I used to
think that
atheism is
about being yourself.
Not all atheist are created equal just like all Christians are not the same so before you say things like «
atheism is so sad», please consider that you really do not know what you are talking
about and it is not your place to judge how I
think or feel.
Most atheists consider
atheism a small part of their lives and don't talk
about it or
think about it much.
If it really has been «done to death,» then I can
think of numerous topics that have been done many times more than this topic (at least where I'm at and interact): faith, hope, love, prayer, fellowship, giving, good works, christian unity, salvation, grace, faith healing, being culturally relevant, the gospel, the resurrection, religion vs. relationship, tithing, worship, reverence, christian music, legalism, old vs. new covenant, Paul's conversion, miracles, gifts of the spirit, sign gifts, tongues, nativity, the disciples, crucifixion, materialism, mysticism, new age,
atheism, i could probably list
about 50 more if I
thought about it.
Really, when you
think about it, had the Cold War turned hot we could have blamed
atheism for at least half the worlds destruction.

think this speaks volumes more
about your character than it does
about atheism.

about atheism, I
think what I have shared of my own journey with forgiving others has been good as well.
Things are now so bad that I tend to keep my
atheism to myself, and instead mumble something
about being a very lapsed Catholic if I'm put on the spot, for fear that uttering the A-word will make people
think I'm a Dawkins drone with a mammoth superiority complex and a hives - like allergy to nurses wearing crucifixes.
Give the child the opportunity to learn
about religions - AND
atheism - and to
think rationally, and then let the child decide what he or she wishes to believe and disbelieve.

He's working to raise awareness, promote free
thought, and to dispel ignorance
about Atheism.
I do not
think Atheism is an entirely new concept... I
think there were cultures that understood enough
about science to realize that the sun didn't rise and set solely because a god told it to, seasons didn't change because a god got bored of one temperature, etc..
