The problem is that most people
think about cardio as a fat - burning tool.
Not exact matches
When you're doing your
cardio workout,
think about what you want to achieve.
When trying to lose fat, regular Joes often start jogging, running, biking or any other form of
cardio, without even
thinking about weight lifting.
So I really didn't have to
think much
about the
cardio component — just the heavy weightlifting and the diet.
At the end of the day, I
think your overall training philosophy is beautifully simple - whether we're talking
about forms of
cardio, or weight training to failure or not: Nothing is bad or good, black and white, etc..

about cardio?
I do 5 classes of
cardio and in between weights, I'm 51 and going through menapaus I
think I'm one of those skinny fat people I currently weight 49kilo, I just want to tone my flab and loose some body fat and always confused

Hello Mike, I'm 5 ft 7, 20 years old and weigh 171 pounds i was fat and i used to be 225 pounds and i lost
about 52 pounds from just running and no weight lifting or strength training at all because i was not aware that
cardio burns the muscle lean with the fat, my goal right now is to gain muscle upon reaching 140 pounds so i don't look skinny fat what advice you can give me i need help, i can't afford a gym membership, do you
think i should do just resistance training and what type of workouts do you recommend for me.

I'm always in the mood for yoga:) Now that I
think about it I like to get lost in an intense
cardio or strength training workout when I'm having a bad day or feeling down.
Adding resistance training to your workout is going to get you melting away the fat quicker than
cardio alone so
think about adding in full body exercises.
If you're a stickler for worrying
about cardio first, strength training second, you may want to flip that
thinking.
But now you are
thinking, what
about cardio?
The secret advantage of what I call «the proper
cardio» is no need to
think about how to sustain it because it is fucking FUN!
This is perhaps what most people
think of when they
think about high intensity
cardio (or high intensity interval training — HIIT).

I had anorexia when I was 14, and then since then have been trying to be «healthy,» by doing at first doing high intensity, but eventually drifting into some sort of low intensity
cardio everyday (b / c did not have the energy for high intensity stuff anymore) and learning everything I could
about food and what to eat / what not to eat (obsessive might be a good word to use here haha)... Mainly following «Nourishing Traditions» wisdom, but also did GAPS for over a year — while living a high stress lifestyle, which I'm pretty sure tanked my adrenals among other things (
think my thyroid was already pretty hypo at that point).
I was wondering your
thoughts about swimming as
cardio exercise?

cardio I was
thinking about 2 days of pilates and 1 day of exercises you mention in Victoria's Secret leg workout - donkey kicks / lying - standing lifts etc - Does this sound good?
Health and fitness have always been my number one passion but I didn't
think about getting into the field until I learned how I had severely damaged my metabolism after years of over-exercise (
cardio) and under - eating based on following the advice of the the mainstream fitness media rather than doing the real research.
Between 2006 and 2010, I went on
about my life, heeding the conventional medical advice and continued working out (lots of chronic
cardio), working long hours (I would sleep for less than 6 hours typically) and eating what I
thought was a fairly healthy diet of low fat and «heart healthy whole grains.»
While steady - state (low to moderate) forms of
cardio can and should be performed for extended periods of time to see maintenance and improvements in VO2max (
think upwards of 45 minutes at a jog), HIIT training for
cardio fitness involves working at an intensity that can only be maintained for
about 20 to 25 minutes.
I
think we definitely need more people shouting
about the benefits of
cardio and far less people scare mongering
about its made up downsides.
