Granola Bars to Make Ahead and Grab
I was just
thinking about something nutty / oatmeal - y /
granola - y whilst sitting here at my local java joint, when this popped up.
Eating
granola straight out the box whilst chatting to my flatmate; consuming an extra large sweet popcorn at the cinema before the adverts were even done with; eating muesli bars whilst rushing to my next meeting
thinking about the agenda.
I don't
think this was
about how I turned the
granola, as it seemed broken up the whole way through.
Hahaha I was just
thinking about holiday presents and
granola was one of the first things on my mind!
Embarrassed to say that I never really
thought about gifting
granola, but it's such a great idea!
I made a slightly adapted version of Anna's
granola last Friday, and as the aroma rose from the oven and filled the house, I
thought about Anna and her project to help Bri.
So whether you're already
thinking about holiday gifts (not I) or if you just want a little treat to brighten your week, this
granola is absolutely where it's at.
I actually was just
thinking about it yesterday, because I vacuumed my car just last weekend, and when I got out of my car last night, there were
granola bar crumbs all in my seat.
When I first met my dear friend, Yvette Hetrick, a foodie and entertainer extraordinaire, many years ago, she rhapsodized
about granola pancakes that she and her husband, Randy, would devour for weekend brunches in, I
think it was, San Diego.

granola, ice cream and just
about anything you can
think of.
I had never
thought about using sweet potato in
granola bars... I'll have to try... plus coconut butter?

This
granola ticks all of the boxes for a hungry camper, hiker, driver, or beach goer because it's got crunch, chew, sweet, salty, chocolate, and a whole lot of nutrients that you won't have to
think about while you enjoy the explosion of yum going on in your mouth.
I was wondering what you
thought about a modification to the soaked
granola sprouted flour
granola recipe.
There are so many things that I love
about this
granola: the crunchy clusters (one wouldn't
think that 1/2 a cup of pure pumpkin could yield such a crunchy
granola, but, alas!
I've never had savory
granola, but now it's all I can
think about.

granola is fabulous to package up in a jar and deliver as a homemade gift for the holiday season.
I tried the recipe with buckwheat groats and it was great — see my blog

thinking, what else could I use to make
granola?
I've been really into homemade hot chocolate, serving my homemade milk with my favorite
granola, using it in my green smoothies and taking sips out of the jar whenever I
think about it.
and then totally didn't
think about the fact that I normally bake
granola at 250 degrees and pie at 375 degrees.
I
think I'd heard of them before, and there's something slightly parfait - like
about those
granola - yogurt - fruit compote cups they sell in M & S (although those really aren't good).
This
granola goes well with just
about any combination of fruit and yogurt, and I
think a tablespoon or two could really amp up some oatmeal.
I was
thinking about you having the problem with the
granola not being crunchy.

granola until I went gluten - free and the store bought became off - limits.
