think about horror movies these days they think about the traditional slasher film or the recent (and grotesquely named) «torture porn» genre.
If you're talking about movies, you're better off not really
thinking about horror movies in terms of series.

movies» and, in an American society where an ever - increasing percentage of young men and women are staying unmarried longer and having children later, the appeal of thrills that entertain without forcing one to
think too hard is expanded to a larger market.

horror movie good whether it's a well - developed sense of dread, incredible shock moments that make you jump at your seat, well presented themes that make you
think about the
movie long after it's over, well developed characters that you care
about, special effects and make up that contribute not detract from the
movie, etc. one of the good examples of the latter point is how William Friedkin who in my opinion is one of the 10 greatest directors of all time used a refrigerated room for some of the scenes.
It should be an action /
horror but
thinks it needs to be an action Tom Cruise
movie but ends up as some kind of unholy amalgam that doesn't even know if it wants to be
about mummies or zombies.
A follow - up to his eerily unsettling 2009 debut The Loved Ones, a
movie that took the John Hughes high school comedy and then gorily spun it on its ear, this
horror opus, shown at the Toronto International Film Festival way back in 2015, has been well worth the wait, the psychological underpinnings driving things so unnerving I shudder just
thinking about them again now.
