I loved the feel cell - shaded gave to this back in 2003, I think It represented a better narrative of the whole sea overworld, I was thankful they didn't use the OOT because that seemed to fit better in a more Tolkien-esque adventure.

The cell - shaded graphics are appropriate for the surreal subject manner (though I still think cell - shaded graphics were at their best in Jet Set / Jet Grind Radio).

I think the art style is what hurt Code Name Steam the most, probably would have sold 4x as much if they went with a cell shaded anime art style like Valkeria Chronicles instead of chasing the american comic book audience that doesn't exist and doesn't look good at such a low resolution.

Edges need to be smoothed out a bit I'm sure, but the game looks like it's going for a more colored manga look, which really can't like up to the cell shaded anime style they've been using already for the most part, but it definitely has it's own look that I think it'll make it's own.
