chili in the fall / winter); 1 or 2 zucchini and / or yellow squash, and (drum roll) 1 can of organic PUMPKIN PUREE!
I am a fan of
bean chili — I pick up dried
beans at Sprouts off — but didn't even
think about any more reasoning behind that either other than that being easier on my wallet!

chili would be fantastic with some more

There is something for everyone here, I
think: we've got vegetarian chilies, crockpot chilies, meaty chilies, beef - free (but not vegetarian) chilies, a
chili or two that have no
beans, and even a tomato - free
chili.
We use a Chinese brand of broad
bean chili paste, but I
think you could use tabasco or whatever spice you prefer).
I was very pleased with the results, and I
think it would be just perfect with a bowl of this black
bean chili on Superbowl Sunday or on any day, really.

chili has definitely evolved beyond the ground beef and kidney
beans of its ancestral heritage, despite what stubborn traditionalists may
think.

We often
think of
beans as stewed up in a
chili or another heavy, wintery dish — not exactly the best summertime eats.
Think half - time party and spicy bowls of

bean salsa and chips, buffalo wings, tacos, chicken tenders, cheese dip and beer come to mind.
