The Empire Center for Public Policy, a pro-free market
think tank, estimates unions stand to lose more than $ 110 million — nearly 13 percent
of their total collections — as
agency fee payers who pay partial dues would be able to fully opt out
of making any payments to the unions.
Purple Folio does have legit sales — but I
think this is a good example
of why upfront
fees —
of any kind — are a conflict
of interest for an
agency, and a major warning sign for authors.
I am sure even the
fee for services reps who read this magazine can attest to their private sellers calling them with questions regardless
of how well they
think they can sell their own property — and the answer to many
of those questions can lead to implied
agency.
