Oh and before you thumb me down, first try to
think of any good striker we can get at this time, knowing Wenger won't be splashing money on one.
Not exact matches
Come to
think of it, if not having a proven
striker and very rich bench has been hindering the club from clinching major trophies all these years, sincerely, it baffles me why the club is bent on not trying to risk getting
good and enough players, if not for anything, for the sake
of seeing what would result from taking such step.
I
thought he was goin 2core 3mo until he (makeshift
striker) was taken off n the first choice came on 2successfully complete his 8games with out a score by the way walcot had a
good number
of shorts on target as
well MOTM.
As for Giroud I hope what I'm hearing is not true. You get the feeling that once Lacazette starts scoring he just won't like it.He's also another overrated player who's also hear because
of Wenger's kindness.Apart from the fact that he's
good with his head I don't see the positives
of keeping here and even Welbeck. We need players who can push Lacazette to perform and these are just not the players. They are more
of rotation players.Do you
think if Welbeck and Giroud were at top form they can challenge Laca at his best?I always laugh at our
strikers though. On one hand, one doesn't fit our style
of play but at least he can finish. On the other hand, the one who fits our style
of play can't even score a goal.I can't believe we are joking with such a crucial role.I'm sick and tired
of seeing average
strikers in the club. It's been painful watching the likes
of Bendtner and Chamakh already. Now I have to cope with this.
Its seems to me that both the club and it's fans are not serious.Anytime Arsenal sign a youngster from another team who is dubbed the next whatever people come out and say Arsenal have just signed a youngster who may or may not make it and that Arsene should sign ready made. They say it to seem as if it's a bad thing. Now that Chris Willock is leaving I'm anticipating that a lot
of people are soon going to be blaming the same Wenger who actually likes bringing in youngsters.Anyway you have to look at the reasons he lfet. It's for game time and to him he
thinks its a
good choice. The bright side is that he's not Arsenal's most talented player. The likes
of Donyell Malen, Yassin Fortune, Reiss Nelson in my eyes have more potential as wingers.I also
think Arsenal should be very excited about Eddie Nketiah and Stephy Mavididi. They can be world class
strikers in the future particularly Eddie.
I
think Giroud is one
of the games
best plan B
strikers honestly, he's a terrific alternative to have and would get into most teams in Europe for that specific function.
So i
think Walcott is a fantastic winger (when he is fit) but he will not be a
good number 9, As a
striker he becomes a one trick pony, running
of the shoulder
of the defender drifting into the spaces looking from the through ball from ozil or carzola etc..
i would
think again before benching a
striker that's found a rich vein
of league form sorry sanchez starts from the bench im afraid he needs to see how
well we perform without him.
my
thinking is that once ozil regains his form then all our
strikers can expect endless supplies
of quality service, i just cant give up on mesut and anything
good we do tomorrow i expect the lava fella will be involved.
I am still hopeful that wenger will sign a
better striker, but
of not I
think in the big games he will play Walcott sanchez chamberlain as our front 3 and that pace will cause any team problems.
Aaron Ramsey certainly hopes and
thinks so, and the Welshman also reckons that the return
of our big French
striker to the squad will play a big part in making sure that the three
good performances against Man United, Borussia Dortmund and West Brom is not another false start, as an Arsenal.com report explains.
If you
think Wenger will sign a new
striker (
of quality), a CB and someone else, you have been doing to much crack last night or you are just lying to yourself and being doing so for years and years, so
good luck with the «delusion»...?
I
think it's because
of how difficult it would be to find a second choice
striker better than Giroud.
If only we can cry over the spilled milk, I would have take Higuain from Madrid over Ozil... The season before we bought Ozil our
best player was Cazorla (AMF) and we were in a desperate need for a
striker (still we are) and Higuain was availabe for less than 30M... Ozil is
good (more than
good but not for Arsenal) but I
think it was a panic buy in the last minutes to pleased the frustrated fans due to lack
of actions in that window...
that tactic worked fantastically at the star
of this season where walcott performed and it worked brilliantly for the team but after the injury
of Theo, giroud had his dry patch and theo almost did nt even try... and the year before welbeck played reaaaally bad as a starting
striker and scored 4 goals or something i
think, if he had one worldclass or equally
good striker as giroud, we would have enough and wenger could rotate them according to the patch / form
of giroud like what he intended to do with walcott and giroud, which i had high hopes for but sadly only worked for half the season
Few years ago we had 3
good strikers in our squad adebayor, Eduardo and v. Persie now we have only one giroud who is worse than all
of them and wenger
thinks he will score 30 goals this season what an idiot, liar, dumb, greedy, over confident, clueless, uncaring 4 th place comedian.
I am not sold on him as a winger, and I
think he has a LOT
of work to do to be a central
striker, but I like him and I hope he plays
well for someone.
Well I
think a recall to the England squad and then a place in the first team will surely help and with the Gunner in red hot scoring form and with the Tottenham
striker Harry Kane out
of action with injury I
think that will happen over the next two weeks.
Even if Wenger
thinks there is no
better striker available than Giroud (Only wenger knows why), still he needs to buy a
striker as Welbeck is almost certainly out
of most
of next season, I am sure he would not go for Walcott and Akpon as our backup
striker.Hopefully
But i do not
think any team in the world now will do that knowing
well in advance about the injury
of the second
striker.
Giroud is tied on three with Bale, Payet and Morata but the Spaniard's tournament is over and with the Arsenal
striker leading the line for France who are now scoring freely I
think he has a
good chance
of finishing on top.
i
think its most important that from so many chances created and only a few is scored, we have such a creative team why shouldn't we have equally a
good striker to put some more
of those chances back
of the net and in return win more games
I even
thought top clubs were in for him. Some three or 2 seasons back many here were debating why he should be our main
striker. As soon as you mention any other
strikers name people would come out with stats and many things defending him.Even Wenger has defended him blindly in the past.People say Wenger's stubborn yeah. But don't we know that there's a reason why everything happens?Honestly speaking he's the reason why Arsene Wenger has failed to sign a top notch
striker because he still believes in him.The funny thing is we signed Welbeck at that time who to me did nothing before to be the main man here.People keep saying Welbeck is hardworking and that he works his socks off.But the question is was that our reason for signing him.Welbeck being signed to challenge Giroud tells me a lot about Giroud's quality.Even Walcott (no offence to him) who has zero CF qualities was even chosen over him for a string
of games and all in all I
think he did
well but has too many defeciencies for that role. We've compromised as a club and it'll come back to bite us.
Given Spain's
striker issues since David Villa's international retirement two years ago, I would have
thought Morata would have featured more, again, if he was that
good or had tons
of potential.
I
think our current play is
best suited to Giroud as
striker, we seem to put in a lot
of crosses in final third but Welbeck or anyone is not always there to contact, but Giroud can be
better in those situations, now we having Giroud back, put Welbeck on bench for some time (giving him rest, can bring on Podolski for him) play two
strikers Pod and Giroud upfront.
as for the summer i
think one world class player in an attacking pos my be
striker, i
think we could see a big bid for draxler sometime in the next year, (maybe in this window if we get lucky could be a big surprise at the end
of the week would make the window awesome) as wenger rates him top top top class talent, and
thinks he could make him into the worlds next
best striker maybe try and get him for # 30 million instead.
We finally have a solid
striker (even if he will take some adaptation time I
think he'll be true class) in Lacazette, we have solid center backs (once they are all healthy) much
better than in recent seasons, Giroud is our killer weapon off the bench rather than the key we are relying on as the main source
of goals, Coquelin and Elneny are now midfield fall - back options rather than Flamini (no offense Mathieu, I appreciated your efforts, just making the obvious comparison), two high quality keepers, etc..
I love the OX and Danny is
good too... but &
think Theo can be one
of the truly great
strikers for us.....
My take is, no matter how
well we complain about this or that, Wenger will always do what he
think is right for the club and the team generally, if he's not buying a
striker that's ok in as much the midfielders can assist with their own share
of goals to ease the burden off the
strikers, but depending solely on Giroud will be suicidal.
By far the
best article I have ever read on this site, there was no bias or empty statements, just cold hard facts, the writer even respected wengers budget but still pointed to where he should've improved, there are no excuses, what you read is literrally all u get with arsene, if you gave him a budget
of 9m or 1 billion, he will ALWAYS take the risk cause he doesn't give a fk about the consequences as if he was a teenager raging through puberty, his stubborn is absolutely pathetic, can you believe he turned down signing a keeper when almunia was shocking, can you believe he didn't sign a CB when squillaci was awful, can you believe that he REFUSED to sign a CDM for almost 8 years, CAN you believe on one
of the most important transfer windows
of arsenals history, arsene decided to go host charity matches in rome, that's right instead
of trying hard for the fans that have respected him and pay him one
of the highest managerial wages in the world, he decided to do what he pleased as usual, cause he doesn't answer to anyone, nor does he giving a flying fk, gazidis a man i
thought was also a crook went and did arsene's job for him and at least got us a
striker (which cost us the title in january last season) and arsene foolishly proclaims that «if i was here we wouldn't
of signed danny» meaning we wouldn't
of had ANY recognised cf till giroud recovered, arsene wenger is a joke
of the highest order, lack
of respect, lack
of shame and lack order, i despise him
I originally
thought that Arsenal have little or no chance
of this transfer but Pires does have a point about the Monaco, Henry and Mbappe connection and you could understand why this very promising young
striker might feel that Arsenal under Le Prof would be a
good move for him.
I
think Lucas» primary role at Arsenal will be as a
striker, but as Wenger seems to want to stick with using a formation that sees one sole
striker supported by two wingers, I still
think Giroud still stands on having the
better chance
of playing in that spot.
In terms
of Striker, I
think Wenger has moved rightly with Vardy's chase but we should go for others as
well
The story repeats, if anyone followed his stay with MANURE, he had flashes
of brilliance everyone
thought he was the next
best thing, only to disappear as fast as he rose, he then spent half
of last season on the bench with Marouane, till MANURE found a team really desperate (US), who missed great opportunities to sign World class
Strikers, to dump him,
better yet they got TOP dollars for a barely above average Player....
something new for sure will happen at the very least we will be getting new players the question being who...... a
striker with 30 goals abomyang a central defender a midfielder new maneger who diago simone will do
well with atlatico or lazio he is connected to them arsenal needs some one within its ranks some one connected to them But today we seen an ugly encounter were certain players should have had the red i
think technology should come in to it and players should be disciplined after The premier league is a physical strong competition to win it you got to be very strong very accurate and very demanding and if you do not have the team to do it you do not win our team didn't live to exceptions
of last season so there for changes will have to happen
Speed is great to have in a
striker, but I
think it is always
best when it's in a player
of a certain height.
But, he should have had another 2 before he scored, I
think we need to be patient with Theo, people attack him for not making the correct runs or lacking the instinct
of a
striker, but for this he simply needs time, games is how he will learn this, I would
think he is getting
good advice from AW and perhaps our new U18s Attacking coach The King can give him some tips.
In my opinion, I
think Walcott and even Sanchez are
strikers but not main CFs... To get the
best of Walcott, he should be played in a two
striker formation.
Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack
of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I
think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as
good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due to our current roster and Wenger's love
of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both
of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are
good enough to overcome such difficulties: not to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste
of time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real
striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment
of this club's failure to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I
think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled to take their sideways soccer to the next level, as his presence slows their game even more, combined with our average, at
best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just
think of all the sacrifices you've made along the way and simply reply... f *** off
I
think that if we had a
striker of Che City PSG Juve's first choice quality, we would be allot
better off in the table right now.
I prefer ox to be honest, let's not forget tho walcotts not the first man not to have a sniff against Chelsea, against weaker opposition Walcott will be very
good with the balls in behind but I
think most agree we need a
striker who is strong and fast not just one
of the attributes our current
strikers possess, if ox stays fit and we sign and
striker Walcott will be a top super sub
I am very baffled as to why we haven't signed a
striker yet.I liked diego Costa as he was that finisher in arsenals mould and he went to chelsea for not an astronomical figure. The quality and quantity
of strikers have dropped drastically.I saw Harry Kane's performance against us and i
think he is that
striker with vision as
well as finish like costa. But he is at Tottenham so i
think he wouldn't come as
well.Benzema maybe
better than giroud but is he the finisher we want (i don't watch la liga).
I
think welbeck is the worst
of the two as a
striker,
better off as a winger, the boy can't shoot, got pace tho but there is something about sanogos game that always adds something although he is still raw, giroud is my
best,
Chelsea's only
good signing is Fabregas, Diego Costa I
think is overrated and a bit hot or cold from what I've seen, Costa could quite possibly flop, in my opinion, he's not the definition
of a «World Class
Striker» and as for Fellipe Luis, I haven't watched enough
of him to make a judgement however if we bring in one more marquee signing then I'll be convinced that we've had the
best transfer window out
of any other club in the Premier League.
I
thought the role
of a
striker was to score goals it's not podi's fault arsene didn't buy
good defenders.
Strikers in
good form look as though they simply don't know how not to score; Soldado, since apparently forever, has looked positively allergic to the very
thought of causing a goal.
I
think were in
good position right now in terms
of strikers with Giroud as our main man, who is playing very
well since the New Year.
lets all thank arsene for finally doing the right thing only time will tell but have we finally signed the DM we need STRONG MINDED NO HOLD BAR MIDFIELDER WE HAVE ALL CRAVED, but lets take it back we all know it will take 2 or 3 more like minded players to make us great again, he has tricked us all buy buying one superstar in the last 3 windows ALEXIS, OZIL and CHEC great players but can't do it all on their own, spending huge amount
of money and saying we can buy the
best players, on the surface this looks great we are buying top top players big prices but instead
of spending his usual 50 mill on 2, 3, 4, 0r 5 players he has pulled the wool over are eyes with 1 superstar
thinking the fans are that dumb enough to believe it, infact he has never spent his budget only balanced on sales too purchases, i love arsenal but this summer i hope for more he needs to do that consistently through out the team spend the same amount on the team stop balancing the american owners, grow a pair say yes we will buy a top defender and a world class
striker, stan we love arsenal please be one
of us do whats needed then you will fell proud as we are and we will adore you for it.
Well that's your opinion.I for one
think Giroud is one
of the most average
strikers to ever play for Arsenal.I would be vindicated by their performances this season.Do you
think any top team apart from Arsenal will take Lukaku and Morata over Giroud?I don't see what's so
good about him.All he does is turn his back away from goal and hopes a fhance comes his way to score. There's nothing special about Giroud.
I
Think he is the only true
striker arsenal has and he was not used to the
best of the abilities, meaning arsenal did not use true wide players who could cross the ball on a dime, he would have had a far higher goals to game ratio, he would be a terrible lost and not easily replaceable, base on his many qualities (i actually sound like Wenger).
