ovens heat at different
temps so be diligent about checking your bird at least 1/2 hour before you
think it should be done according to the directions.
Do you
think your had the
oven set to the wrong
temp and / or wrong cooking time when you made them the second time?
It's a couple more weeks before they're in season here (Chicago) so in the meantime I will be plotting... my husband
thought maybe dehydrating the grapes a little at a low
temp in the
oven before kneading them in to the dough to prevent the runniness?
First I
thought it was my guar gum sub, then too much water, then not long enough in the
oven, then
oven temp... and on and on.
I
thought this must be the same temperature for baking the rest of the pie, so left the
oven at that
temp.
The only thing I can
think of is maybe your
oven temp might be a little off.

Thought about using the iron skillet but was too lazy:) AND figured I would never get the
temp right.
The
oven one was ok cos I
think I didn't do a good job with the
oven temp worrying it would turn dark.
Like seriously, I would never
think to decrease the
oven temp to the 200's!
For this, I *
think * I baked the tofu cubes at 350 (since my
oven was already on that
temp) for about 15 min, flipped / stirred, returned to the
oven and baked about 10 more min.
I'm curious about trying the crackers but baking them at my
oven's lowest
temp; I'll have to
think about just how to do it, but they look so good.
We are already in the high 80s,
temp wise, and the
thought of the
oven going for hours makes me sweat!
