I always hear my sister and petite friends talk about how they can't wear certain things, i.e. jumpsuits, high waist pants, maxi dresses, etc, but personally
I think petite people look great in all of those trends!

Additionally, I joined JROTC (I know what you guys are
thinking, it is the opposite of cheering) but being part of JROTC forced me to come out of my shell, I was forced to be loud by being a captain (so now imagine a
petite girl calling commands to a group of
people) it's a funny image if you ask me.
Most
people think that it's just a shorter version, but it's actually smaller overall and the waist sits up a bit higher so I usually only reserve
petite sizing for
petite maxi dresses and skirts, rather than the rest of my garments.
I
think some sewing skills could come very useful for
petite people like us, like knowing how to shorten pants / skirts / dresses, altering the side seams or bust area, etc..
If you are proportioned in such a way that
people often
think you are taller than you are (hint:
petite sizes probably don't fit), you can ignore # 1 and # 2 above and wear OTK boots any way you want.
and I
think if your clothing fits well, most
people don't realize we're
petite unless they are standing next to us!!

petite women should avoid lacy or patterned tights, or just tight things overall.
I know most
people think when your
petite, you should never wear flats (aka my momma who is also a little lady), but I have always followed my own rules when it comes to footwear.
