regular whole -
wheat flour with self rasing one and exclude the baking powder?
Hi Nava, just made a batch, but had to make some subs... no
whole wheat flour, so took 8 cups AP, added 2 cups bran and 3/4 cup germ no apple sauce, so I diced 2 medium sized Empire apples, and micro waved for 5 minutes, left the peel on, but
think next time might peel them
regular cooking oil 3/4 each of blue berries and rasp berries..
But I actually
thought that, much like a good loaf of
whole wheat artisan bread, these cookies were complex and more interesting than a
regular chocolate chip cookie.
Do you
think I could use
regular flour, or perhaps
whole wheat flour, in place of the spelt flour?
The recipe says to use self - rising flour, but do you
think regular, white
whole wheat flour would be ok?
In using what I have in the cupboard, do you
think I could use
regular whole wheat flour and soak it along with the oats?
I have experimented with making cheese biscuits,
whole wheat cheese biscuits, apple cheddar cheese biscuits... pretty much any biscuit combination with cheese, but for some reason have never
thought to just make plain old
regular... biscuits.
I also used
regular whole -
wheat flour and
thought they still tasted great.
Think of it as a fiber packed alternative to all purpose flour without all the ickiness of
regular whole wheat flour.
