Question: I'm
thinking of making a page / entry of all my favorite
vegan places in Berlin as well as good resources I've found such as a food co-op and CSA shares (you actually have to work on the farm here, sort of cool!).
If you are
vegan I have
placed in some substitutions for the raw grass - fed butter, but of course you will lose that traditional buttery fudge taste and end up with a slightly more coconutty one but I don't
think this is a bad thing and all, and you will probably find that it feels like an even cleaner treat doing so.
I am wondering, though, would do you
think it would work to substitute solid coconut oil in
place of butter to make it
vegan?
Then I
thought of the cashew brownies that won a
place in the Cranks recipe book and suddenly my
vegan chocolate banana cashew cake was born.
Of course, there's no way I'd go there now (although I
think it's still one of my brother's favourite
places to eat...), it must be the most un
vegan - friendly
place going - not just the menu but the décor too - the restaurants are all fitted out in black leather with cow hide furnishings everywhere!
They won an award for being an SF green business so I l
think this is a good
place to support despite the
vegan dogs.

think an egg substitute (like flax) would work in
place of the eggs to make them GF and
vegan?
