David, this is one of your «less is more» toons here... a minimum of elements that says so much....
When we
think of him that way, in our most honest moments, we
think that while it would have been nice to be back there and hear some of His teaching, see some of His parables, and go ask him that theological question that's always been bothering us — if we're honest with ourselves, we're not sure he's really the
kind of guy we would
want to hang out with.
The
kind of results we
want are not going to come until that gospel has found its way into the deepest springs of
thought and action and has had time to grow its own forms of conscience and culture, a process which is by no means complete in our own country.

I liked the book because the principles he shares encapsulate my
thinking from the past five years about the

want to live among the people at my job and in my neighborhood.
It is this

thinking that cause «biblical» people to be scorned by others... rather than forgive like the message of Jesus was all about, you

It's because God, in part,
