However, I have later found out that the Swedish
school lunches are in fact not that healthy and contain endless numbers of «E-numbers», but something that I do
think is still
better is the idea of what «normal»
food is or isn't, which I've seen has been a frequently discussed topic here.
I don't
think this is so much a matter of whether there are much larger or important issues regarding the state of
school lunch
food but rather just a
good place to start.
I agree with you to some extent, but as the originator of the Change.org petition against pink slime in
school food, I did want to share my
thoughts as
well.
But the experiment does make the point, I
think, that for all the
school food improvements we've seen in our district (and I'm grateful for all of them, don't get me wrong), there are still offerings that permit kids to make very poor selections on the lunch line, selections that may
well have an adverse impact on their health down the line.
Low fat diets, low carb diets, ketogenic diets, Paleo diets, South Beach diets, raw
food diets - you name your dietary preference, there's a

thought out there that purports it to be the
best way to stay lean, keep your energy levels high, maximize performance, etc..
And if you wonder what kind of

well that was our math teacher; she would have, from time to time, a nice 10 minutes discussion with us, (math unrelated), to make us
think, to open our minds.

thought that was the
best food they could possibly have, and I held that impression even into medical
school.

think it's so important that we focus a lot of our efforts on making sure that, you know, that
food tastes great for those kids so that they learn that what - that the
foods that they're getting in

think a
good school has
good food and more opportunities to see the community and trying to help the community get
better.
