In my mind, I was
thinking about Chili's chocolate chip paradise pie dessert.

But Lord, God, don't ever
think that we ain't grateful for this
chili we
about to eat.
As the temperatures cool down, it's time to
think about making a batch or two of our favorite Slow Cooker Chicken Soup, Stew, and
Chili Recipes.
I am a fan of bean
chili — I pick up dried beans at Sprouts off — but didn't even
think about any more reasoning behind that either other than that being easier on my wallet!
I was leery when I made a coffee steak recently, but it was so good it made me start to
think about coffee and ribs, but then I felt like I needed to balance the coffee out with something sweet which is where the chocolate came from and then I had to hit it with some heat and thus the ancho
chili powder.

Speaking of farm - fresh food, I
think it's time to talk
about Fall Harvest
Chili.
But after I
thought more
about it, I realized that making curry really is actually pretty simple; it's almost exactly like making
chili just with different ingredients.
4 bone - in pork chops,
about 1 inch
think fresh ground salt and pepper 1 cup flour 2 tsp garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon thyme 1/8 teaspoon
chili powder 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil, divided use 2 medium onions, thinly sliced 2 tablespoons butter 1 1/2 cup low - sodium chicken broth 1/4 cup heavy cream

I was
thinking of leaving out the red
chili flakes, and adding
about 1 - 2 tbsp of barbecue sauce.
I
think 1 jalapeno and
about 1 1/2 teaspoons of
chili powder would be a good combo.
My family are huge fans of
chili & pumpkin — not once have I
thought about combining the two!
It was one of those things that I saw over and over (including this tasty taco
chili recipe pinned to my gluten free group board) and I kept
thinking about it and
thinking about it until one day I was all like «must.
None of us bat an eyelash at the notion of slathering peanut butter all over a slice of bread and then crowning it with fruit preserves, nor do we
think twice
about mixing
chili powder and garlic into a peanut butter base and drizzling it all over our Asian pot stickers.
Honestly when I
think about making veggie
chili and corn bread, I get so bored with that idea, I
think about making them.
Even though I loved just
about every dish she made, there is one that immediately comes to mind when I
think of home (and what I always want to eat):
Chili Colorado.
Side dishes to accompany
chili can include steamed rice (strictly family - fare), corn bread, bread or bread sticks, tortillas, biscuits or rolls, garlic bread, salads, pickles, fruits, and just
about anything your imagination can
think of.
I was skeptical
about using that much paprika and
chili powder,
thinking they would make the fries too spicy, but I went ahead and used them, and we really loved the fries!
When people
think of
chili peppers, they tend to
think more
about the spicy sting of the serrano, the happy jolt of the jalapeno, the blasting bite of the bhut jolokia, but usually not the bell pepper.
If you're one of those people who are vehemently opinionated
about how to make the perfect
chili and can't believe I would even
think of posting a
chili recipe without
chili peppers... relax.
The only problem is he adds
about a whole package of crackers to it so really I
think it is more of a cracker recipe with a side of
chili.
The beans in the turkey
chili help to keep me full for the rest of the workday so I'm not
thinking about food.
Of course it makes sense as there are so many different
chilis, but I just never
thought about it!
