In the opposite direction is Jon Hewitt's X, a stylish
thriller set amongst Sydney's King's Cross prostitution ring
as an older sex worker and a fledgling
prostitute find themselves on the run of vicious dirty cops.
By the time it threatens to morph into The
Prostitute that Rocked the Cradle, Chloe has effectively established itself
as an appealingly (and irresistibly) over-the-top
thriller that's entertaining in ways that Egoyan probably didn't plan for.
