If the TPS doesn't signal «idle» to the engine when the
throttle body is closed, that's a
problem right there.
If any
problems associated with rpm, hanging - up, rotaions at a high rate, you should check the idle air control valve,
throttle position sensor and clean the
throttle body.
The
problem typically comes with programming it with a different
throttle body; which is why the auto parts store recommended the
throttle body...
Usually when you have a
problem like this, it's due to dirty fuel injectors,
throttle body, EGR valve or mass air flow sensor.
It sounds like you may be having
problems with your Idle Air Control valve on the back of the
throttle body.
Also dirty
throttle body may cause this
problem.
