I spent some time going
through squad lists to see how teams in the Premier League and Championship currently shape up with regard to foreign players.
Not exact matches
Every year when Arsenal go
through a bad patch (like losing ONE out of the first TEN League games lol) the fans start calling for Wenger to be sacked, but surely he has had to cope with players returning from the World Cup, an unbelievable injury
list, blending new players into the
squad, and he has STILL managed to get us up into Fourth place already.
People keep running off the
lists of clubs that have «improved» massively
through spending but don't offer any balance by
listing the outgoing players that had previously played a part in their 1st X1s / matchday
squads or had failed to impress after a short stint.
What would be high on my
list — Is top
squad building capabilities, bringing
through young players, competitive nature, bad loser, finds a good balance with attacking and defending, an eye for a bargain if needs be, good character judgement, either has winning mentality or looks eager to gain one, respects the hell out of The Arsenal, and respects loyalty.
It's not until you look
through previous
squad lists do you realise that there are some players that have been at clubs that would take many by surprise and Celtic are one that fall into that category, having always been a side that invests heavily in recruitment.
They've been a match for most teams this season, which really shouldn't be the case when you breeze
through their
list of
squad members as neither stand out as anything special.
