Not only is it not worth the 20 hours of my time it would take to
tile my own
bathroom versus paying someone to do it
in four hours, but also it's
just not
in my wheelhouse of skills — and I'm OK with that.

My sister has white subway
in her kitchen and
bathrooms with a dark grey grout and I love it so much that I
just did the same
in our new addition —
in fact, I'm going to dig out the grout
in the upstairs
bathroom (which is white grout on white subway
tile) and do a silvery / grey grout
in its place.
If you want to renovate the
bathroom, but retiling the wall isn't
in the budget,
just paint over the
tile!
I'm
in the middle of a
bathroom remodel and
just had white subway
tile put
in and I'm using gray grout and dark floors.
I think the last picture is showing old historic
tiles from historiske.dk — several companies carry these now and I
just had them installed
in my
bathroom in the black and grey version — they are very pretty

My hubs is 61 — I am 58 and we still go strong on DIY — and we still make boo - boos — last year, we were redoing (or should I say the hubs was redoing) the floor

bathroom — the crazy nut
tiled himself into the tub — I was
in the kitchen painting the texture he had
just a couple of days before put on the walls (had wallpaper on it before) and I hear this feeble «Honey, can you go outside on the side of the house and get that
tile from the ground under the window»... I went into the
bathroom, saw him standing
in the tub, and he explained that he got mad and threw the
tile out the open window.
Just today, I saw a fabulous pink and gray
tiled original midcentury
bathroom in a home
in Kirkwood, Missouri, and unfortunately the next buyer will probably demo this

bathroom is easy to achieve, and can give the room a luxury

just start with classic fixtures
in bright white and choose striking black wallpaper,

in the shower and if I had money leftover I'd buy paint for the walls... maybe a creamy coffee mocha color.
