Many
tiles are more than just an application launcher, they contain live data that
updates automatically — a weather
tile will automatically show the latest weather report, a news title will scroll the latest
from your feeds, the social widget will show the latest photos
from Facebook, and your stock ticker will automatically show you what those greedy Wall Street people are up to.

As a result of a metered network connection, apps you acquired
from the Microsoft Store will stop
updating, the Start menu may stop showing live
updates in
tiles, and offline files may stop syncing to the cloud automatically.
With the
tiles on Start screen I just don't need another way to check new emails,
updates from my friends on social networks, view photos, app notifications, calendar, -LSB-...]
First of all, while it does still have a «What's New» section that loads social
updates from Twitter and Facebook (LinkedIn

from that website, like news, for example.

tiles that can serve as simple shortcuts or
updating widgets.
Oh yeah and it has a cool live
tile that shows you a weather icon and below it (
from left to right) current temp, day high / low and time of last
update.
Flixster, the movie info application that shows local showtimes, trailers and reviews
from Rotten Tomatoes, came out with their

tile functionality and bugfixes, though it took them 3 days to turn it...
