Naka: I was very much against Sega ceasing to develop hardware, and I think at
the time Phantasy Star Online was just about to come out.
Speaking of music, I think the SST band, a group composed of Sega Sound Staff, was formed just around
the time Phantasy Star was released.

Without hint book, it took me a very very long

Phantasy Star II since the dungeon maze is hard (thank God the game ending was really worth it).

Phantasy Star III received a few more months development
time, there's a chance many would consider it their favorite in the series.

Overall I enjoyed
Phantasy Star 2, but always, even at the
time, thought of it as a disappointing sequel.

time thinking about how to make the game even more «
Phantasy Star» - ish than before.
It was a heady
time, and there was an out - and - out frenzy for video games — and the passion for
Phantasy Star too, is certainly a part of this era.
I don't think we've ever had as difficult a
time setting the price for a game as we did with
Phantasy Star II, actually.
Morimoto: Since
Phantasy Star was made at the
time of the Sega Master System, it was very difficult to create sounds for it.
I also find the
Phantasy Star Universe more interesting than say the Final Fantasy universe (at this point in
time).
All that being said, the plot is good in
Phantasy Star II, and the game was amazing for its
time — a
time where (most) people generally got half a dozen games in a year, and played those games to death.
Massively OP reader Francois recently pointed us to IGN's Top 100 RPGs of All
Time, which we thought was worth a nod since unlike many such lists, it includes several early MMORPGs: including EverQuest (100), EVE Online (81),
Phantasy Star Online (63), and of course, World of Warcraft (5), plus other multiplayer games we've covered in the past, like Diablo II, Titan Quest, Torchlight II, Stardew Valley, Neverwinter Nights, and more Ultima, Elder Scrolls, and Final Fantasy franchise games than you can shake an ancient console cartridge at.
Alas, the first two Mega Drive games for 1989 are Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle, a platformer of moderate length, and
Phantasy Star II, a large,
time - consuming RPG.

Aesthetically, we are paying homage to
Phantasy Star IV (a personal all -
time favourite of NickyD's) by showing battles from behind the visible playable characters (as Reggie, you would be standing behind them, after all).

time as far as battles go.

time though, and go out to complete it.

time around, Persona takes a look at one of my favorite online games of all
time, Sega's
Phantasy Star Online, with a particular eye to the treasures like the super-spectacular weapons that may (or may not!)
At a
time when Sega has released its own titles such as Sonic The Hedgehog, Kid Chameleon and
Phantasy Star II onto mobile platforms, it feels like we're a step closer to Nintendo finally biting the bullet and deciding to enter the mobile gaming market with its older titles.

See, if people wanted to, they could buy Arks Cash every month to get the premium services, which would make it seem like a sub fee, but it's not, because it's not required since it is a free to play game (unless you like to have the services all the
