Many
times, the
condominium is being doubly punished because the unit
owner has already stopped paying the common charges and may have abandoned the unit.
If a property
owner fails to keep their property safe through routine inspections and maintenance, they can be held liable in court for pain and suffering, any
time loss from work, medical bills, and other expenses caused by injuries sustained during a
condominium accident.
If a
condominium association fails to provide a copy of the most recent financial report to an

The amendments include the creation of a
condominium tribunal to reduce the
time and costs associated with dispute resolution between condo
owners and corporations.
Years ago, an HOA more than 20 years old at the
time was sued by two home
owners who claimed the association converted their attached «townhouse» homes from
condominiums to planned development lots, despite the fact that the original covenants clearly identified the HOA as a planned development.
