food and travels.Me and my husband are real globe trotters and every
time we come back home from our travels, I try to replicate what we've
eaten abroad.Sometimes the results are unexpectedly
good, some not but however it's a great way to learn something new and to remember the place we've been.

Whilst we
ate in plenty of restaurants during our 3 week tour round this stunning country, we spent most of our
eating time at street markets, as that is where the really
good authentic
food is, not to mention cheap.
I may
eat mostly
good food most of the
time, but the amounts of sugar and sweets and oils I
eat is causing me to heavily detox after not having them for a week.
The meal options I came up with had to be: # 1 things that would be fairly easy to prepare (I wasn't about to take an extra hour on Sunday to make something elaborate), # 2 had to be
foods I could easily manipulate the nutritional profile for (ensuring a balance of protein, carbs, and fat), # 3 the
food had to store
well in the fridge or freezer, # 4 they had to reheat
well in either the toaster or microwave OR be
eaten cold right from the fridge, and # 5 ideally, they needed to be things she could easily
eat in the car on the way to school (remember, it takes us at least 20 minutes with no traffic to get to school so
eating in the car gives us even MORE
time to sleep lol).
In future posts I am sure I will discuss why the
foods mentioned above are not
good to
eat, however in the mean
time I do encourage you to read the information in the Primal Blueprint Plan.
While I love a
good reason to
eat great
food and spend
time with loved ones, there is always pressure on me to bring a fabulous dessert.
However I had a lovely
time seeing all the family,
eating wayy too much
food and generally having a
good time!
