This made me laugh when I saw it because I've had carnitas many many
times in Mexico (not from a restaurant, but from
home kitchens of friends and / or their abuelitas) and, honestly, it's always been my least
favorite (and the most disgusting to me... except for menudo, I'm sorry, I can't love it) Mexican dish because it is much different than I see it here - basically the fatty trimmings from preparing something else taken and fried.
The greasy BBQ - joint version of hushpuppies (like the ones from Bullock's that my roommate always drove
home to her dad
in NJ over vacations) are super satisfying, but my all
time favorites were the ones at the upscale Watt's Grocery — farmer's cheese hushpuppies served with basil mayo.

Since my dad always says that I am so similar
in character to my mother, I guess that's why one of my
favorite things about the Christmas
time is to decorate our
home.

favorite but there are some design ideas
in particular that can bring the cozy factor into your
home like no other.
I tend to frequent
home more often
in the fall because of all the holiday
time but checking out the gorgeous views of the city and it's changing leaves by foot is one of my
favorites: Finally we have DC where most of my running happens.

Your sofa is still one of my
favorite things
in your
home, every
time I see it, it just looks so cozy and inviting and makes me want to crawl up
in the corner with a book!
Red pepper hummus is my absolute
favorite and although I'm
in the same boat as you — it's hard to justify making hummus at college when you can save so much
time by just buying it — I will DEFINITELY be trying this recipe the next
time I'm at
home!
And then, true to form, after wearing it out to a lovely dinner and twirling a few
times in the streets, right before I turned into a pumpkin, we head
home to my second
favorite thing (second only to the act of dressing up): shed the fancy, step into my comfiest pajamas, and snuggle
in bed with my Mister to watch Netflix.
Maybe it's because I get to hang out and spend
time with extended family members... maybe it's about all the amazing
home cooked meals everyone brings... maybe because I actually get a chance to spend a little more
time than usual
in the kitchen, whipping up my Nana's
favorite Italian Christmas Cookies.
