on time to have an emergency c - section & i began to cry... & as i cried i had to go to the bathroom - i
sat on the
toilet & the rushes came down like nothing i can explain - but they didn't hurt - it was just POWER!
My boy is 23 months now, since he was born we decided to let him see us going to the bathroom, we got him a small potty that looks like ours an just put it near
toilet, he only liked to
sit on it with his feet inside it until this Christmas we gave him a few potty books between his presents, after we read them only once to him next
time he felt the need to go immediately told us «popo - pipi» and have been doing it since then.
when she was a little over 4 1/2 months old she had started to have some solid poops since I started her
on solids... well she was having a hard
time when she was

Also, to help her get comfortable with the idea of using the potty, let her

toilet fully clothed a few

My son was not potty trained until he was almost 4 years old.He was a very active boy, and it seemed that he just didn't want to take the
time to go to the bathroom / potty when he could just go in his diaper and keep
on playing.I did spend
time putting him
on his potty chair, and eventually the
toilet but he would never go, yet as soon as a diaper was
on, he's dirty it.And I felt like a horribly mean mother for making him
sit there for so long.So, I decided to just let him do it when he wanted to.
However now he does nt want to
sit on it bt wen the
time comes he rushes by the
toilet and sqorts
on the floor or stands by the
toilet door and urinates.
It's bad... but I had to leave the washroom when my daughter insisted for the first
time that she wanted to

sit him

toilet (big
toilet with little seat) and he poops almost every
time.
Also if the
toilet is an auto - flush, warn your kid ahead of
time so they aren't startled too much when it goes off while they are still
sitting on it.
If you start the training process using the regular
toilet with the trainer seat
on top, then your child will get used to
sitting up high
on the
toilet and will also become used to the flushing sound that a real
toilet makes, a sound that children often become afraid of if they haven't been exposed to it enough
times.
If you can tell that it's about
time for him to poop, you can encourage him to
sit on the
toilet.
Since bowel movements and urination often happen at the same
time, it makes sense to have your son start by
sitting on the
toilet.
I would say just talk to them about the potty read up
on babycenter about the different things to help the process along because even if they are not talking that much they still may give off many non verbal clues of having to go potty.However if they are really not ready try potty training keep a onesie
on in the day
time with their clothing and a blanket sleeper
on at night that way they hopefully won't be able to get to the dirty diaper before you.My dd is 19 months as well and I have been training her sort of by letting her
sit on the potty I have only let her use the one that goes
on the big
toilet but she peed in it once and she often will say she has to pee when in the bathroom but will
sit and not do anything and get little pieces of tissue off the roll and push it into
toilet this is her renditon of wiping even though the tissue does not really come in contact with any areas that need to be wiped I have slacked off
on the training because she can not pull her pants up and down which is
on the list of things kids need to be able to do to go by themseleves.Maybe just get them a few books and videos and a potty chair and talk to your dd's and see what happens you may be surpised.HTH
We get into all the details of birthing
time: from the prodromal labor to water not being the most helpful tool during labor,

toilet and then pushing for 5 hours.
I can not count how many

toilet, only to look over and see a single sheet of

Small things like independent

on and off, and having the ability to

time of day, lift it and peek underneath.

time on toilet paper and select - a-size paper towels (which
sit safely in your garage for months).

time someone
sat on it.The trim paint
on the floors and around the door was all banged up and chipping.
You could
sit on the
toilet and wash your hands in the sink at the same
time.
