Willamette Valley
Winery is up near Salem, and my very wine snobby soon to be inlaws love it so much I have to pack it in my luggage every
time I go to
visit them in England, so that would be one to try.

The best
time to
visit is weekdays for a quiet, relaxing atmosphere and chance conversations with winemakers and
winery owners.
There are so many
wineries, it would probably take a life
time to
visit them all!
Following Kunde Family
Winery, we stopped by Chateau St. Jean, which was my favorite location during my
visit since it was my first
time seeing a chateau and the architecture along with the garden were all so quaint.
I have had flute after flute of their sparkling wines, but this was my first
time actually
visiting the
winery itself.
Everytime I go to Napa I
visit a new
winery — this
time I
visited Castello Di Amorosa.
If you've read the blog a few
times, you know that Aaron and I love
visiting Virginia
wineries when we have the chance.
Not that the owners, in the
winery at the
time, did any of these basic calculations, the
winery essentially resulted in an immediate loss of $ 280 from our
visit.
In my free
time, I enjoy hiking (except for the spiders), bird - watching,
visiting wineries, and collecting anything with owls on it.
Readers» favorite
time to
visit here was fall — perhaps because that's also harvest
time for the
wineries (such as Heller and Galante) in neighboring Carmel Valley.
I'd recommend
visiting one or two and spending the rest of your
time in smaller
wineries.
Also
visit some of Australia's most famous
wineries, including Jacobs Creek; Seppeltsfield, famous as the world's only
winery to release a 100 - year - old, single vintage wine each year; and McGuigan Wines, named International Winemaker of the Year for a record four
times.
You'll
visit three premium
wineries, have lunch and enjoy some free
time in Tanunda before returning to your ship.
Don't get caught in the crowd,
visit boutique
wineries, attend private tastings and have a fair dinkum good
time.
Unfortunately, I didn't have
time to
visit every
winery but it was still a cool experience.
There is
time for a late afternoon
winery visit before dinner and overnight accommodation at Chardonnay Lodge with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day Two The Silverado Trail to Calistoga (straight driving

wineries on the Silverado trail; Take the tram up to the Sterling
Winery for a spectacular view; Shop, dine in Calistoga; See the Geyser or do a spa treatment (or mud bath); Drop in at Auberge du Soliel for a cocktail and fabulous view.
