«While we are not aware of individuals ultimately being denied drugs, it is clearly unacceptable that they do not have
timely access to medicines that form a vital part of their treatment.
The Government recognises the original intention of the location rules was
to create a suitable geographic spread of pharmacies
to ensure dependable and
timely access to Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
medicines, including in rural and remote regions.
