Part of the appeal
of Whitehead's metaphysics lies in this, that through his conception

of change, and in few eternalistic ones.

And, oh, when the hour - glass has run out, the hourglass
of time, when the noise
of worldliness is silenced, and the restless or the ineffectual busyness comes to an end, when everything is still about thee
as it is in eternity — whether thou wast man or woman, rich or poor, dependent or independent, fortunate or unfortunate, whether thou didst bear the splendor
of the crown in a lofty station, or didst bear only the labor and heat
of the day in an inconspicuous lot; whether thy name shall be remembered
as long
as the world stands (and so was remembered
as long
as the world stood), or without a name thou didst cohere
as nameless with the countless multitude; whether the glory which surrounded thee surpassed all human description, or the judgment passed upon thee was the most severe and dishonoring human judgement can pass — eternity asks
of thee and
of every individual among these million millions only one question, whether thou hast
lived in despair or not, whether thou wast in despair in such a way that thou didst not know thou wast in despair, or in such a way that thou didst hiddenly carry this sickness in thine inward
parts as thy gnawing secret, carry it under thy heart
as the fruit
of a sinful love, or in such a way that thou, a horror to others, didst rave in despair.
The Church,

But Christian faith and human experience reveal that there is a treasuring
of the passing goods
of life,
as each passing event gives itself to and becomes a
part of the ongoing movement
of life, and
as every movement
of time finds its particular niche in eternity.
Tim i found it liberating to just do what the Lord wants you to do i work within his boundarys and yes i attend church and enjoy it.I love the people and i love hearing the word and worshipping the Lord even if others are still bound up with traditions thats not my walk thats theres. My focus is to do what the Lord wants me to do.There have been
times i have said no to the pastor he does nt understand why i choose not to lead the worship.i query him
as well regarding the idea that its not just performing a function because there is a need our hearts have to be in the right place so that the Lord can use us but he did nt understand where i was coming from and thats okay because
of that i just said no until my heart is right i am better not being involved in leading. But i am happy to be an encouragement to others in the worship team i havent wanted to be the leader i have done that in the past.So my focus has been just the singing and being
part of different worship teams i think the Lord has other plans
as the groups i am in seem to be changing at the same
time i am aware that i do nt to worry about change
as the Lord knows whats best.I used to be quite comfortable leading the music but that was before when i was operating in my own self confidence and pride. The Lord did such a huge change in my
life that i lost my self confidence and that is not a bad thing at all
as my spiritual growth has been incredible. The big change was my identity moved from me and what i could do to knowing who i was in Christ and that he is my strength and confidence. Now i know that without him i can do nothing in fact i am dependent on his empowerment through his holy spirit all the
time in everything. In the weekend i was asked to lead the music at another church i attend multiple churchs although i attend two regularly one has services in the morning and one has services in the evening so the two do nt really clash. In the weekend i was asked to lead the music its been two years since i did that and i was worried on how i would go.All i can say is that it went really well and because i stepped out in Faith the Lord really blessed the morning to the congregation. The difference is knowing that i serve the Lord with the gifts he has given me but my heart has to be right and when i do it in his way it builds up the body and it brings glory to him.May the Lord continue to show you what he wants you to do even though others may not understand your reasons i just want you to know that you do nt have to pull away completely just work within the boundarys that the Lord gives you and do nt feel pressured by others expectations to do anything that feel uncomfortable.Be involved just
as you feel lead by the holy spirit even if it is in a very minor way take small steps.regards brentnz
At the same
time, one must acknowledge that
part of the special enchantment
of the novel, considered
as a distinct literary form, is the illusion it can create
of a fully realized world; a truly great novel is like a magic mirror, whose surface reflects not only the appearances, but the souls
of living men and women.
Most do not want to return to a
time when fathers owned their daughters and sold them to the highest bidder (Exodus 21:7; Nehemiah 5:5; Genesis 29:1 — 10), when multiple wives and concubines were a
part of everyday
life (even for men
of God like Abraham, Jacob, and David), when women were forbidden from owning property, when foreign virgins could be captured
as spoils
of war (Judges 21), when a woman's lack
of virginity could get her executed (Deuteronomy 22:11, Leviticus), when the stories
of brave women like Tamar and Dinah and Esther and Vashti and Leah and Rachel emerge from contexts
of oppression.
The school must not be undertaken, that is,

part of the total

Thus I should say that if the story
of Jesus»
life had been told just
as it seemed — and in a sense was — at the
time it was occurring, that story would not have been adequately or truly told or that
life was a
part of a supremely significant, a divine event, the event through which God, the Creator and the Ruler
of all nature
as well
as the Lord
of history, was entering into man's
life with new redemptive power; but that fact was not grasped clearly, if at all, till the event had reached its culmination in the resurrection, the coming
of the Spirit, and the creation
of the community.
