the tincture recipe.
Needless to say, I was determined to have it on hand again this time and mixed up a batch using a standard
tincture recipe a few months ago.
Tincture recipes usually use some kind of extraction method to release all the benefits of the herbs, and then add a natural preservative like alcohol or glycerin to further extract and make the tincture shelf - stable for a long time to come.
I have several
tincture recipes posted (including my two favorites: Chamomile Tincture and Digestion Tincture) but I realized that a post with general instructions on how to make a tincture from any herbs would be helpful.
Not exact matches
I tried it ALL — sex, evening primrose and other various homeopathic
tinctures, spice, acupuncture, nipple stimulation, walks on vertical hills, chocolate ice cream, even that damn famous eggplant parm
recipe which took all day to make (good thing I made it — I had some hungry in - laws that came to visit after the baby was born!).
Alcohol
tinctures are the most common type and the easiest to make, though vinegar or even glycerin will work (here's how to modify the
recipe for a glycerin
tincture).
To make a
tincture, the proportions from this
recipe can be used with just vitex in place of the other herbs.
This
recipe is basically an herbal
tincture made with certain high - nutrient herbs to create a liquid multi-vitamin.
