It's a good way to keep baking powder fresh, however I think it's because a lot of people don't bake at home — in France, bags of sugar and flour are much smaller than they are in the states (in the US, there are huge bags of nuts, flours, sugars, and other baking ingredients in supermarkets)- which I think is because there are so many bakeries (and in cities like Paris,
kitchens are
tiny) and lots of people buy their baked goods rather than make them.

kitchen in their fourth floor Venice apartment.
But I couldn't have this recipe go to waste so I found a
tiny spot by the
kitchen window and made it work to the best of my ability, haha!

Right now we rent an apartment in Manhattan and my
kitchen is, although big for NYC standards,
tiny!
Ok, you know I'm not a great cook, so I have a question — I don't own a stand mixer for my
tiny little
kitchen... so can I use my hand mixer to beat the filling, or should I borrow one?
My grandmother had a
tiny kitchen too, minimal gadgets, and put out meals and baked goods like nobody's business.

Now I plan to make it again, but for a larger group of 8 - scary from my

I lived in a semi-furnished studio for awhile when I was younger, and the
kitchen consisted of a
tiny fridge / microwave / hot plate.
Definitely not needed to make them by the way, but if you have a deep desire to have absolutely everything in your
kitchen (even when it's
tiny!)

:) I started reading your blog a few years ago as a novice cook and a Newlywed in my
tiny NYC
kitchen, and it's been a lot of fun learning from you.
Also, that I can leave my laptop in the living room and not on the
kitchen counter, because I have a
tiny Chicago - sized counterspace that has resulted in it being covered in flour and vanilla and little drops of molasses over the years that I still can't seem to get off.
There are a handful of Mexican pantry products at the
tiny bodega called Los Rodriguez Productos Mexicanos, but the real reason to visit is the
kitchen in the back.
I don't know you but the journey you have made from your blog in your
tiny kitchen to this wonderful cookbook inspires me so so much.

Cut up the veggie bacon (with
kitchen shears) into super
tiny pieces and cook in a frying pan on the stove.
