tip of my paint brush into water first and then into my mixture before painting a few strokes.

Tip: using cardstock becomes a little messy... if you are using chalk
paint you can always sand down the sloppy edges and then finish it off with a dry
brush technique in the old white to fade some

of my number 12 round

of your
paint onto a plastic plate, that will help your
brush only gather the amount
of paint it needs, so you don't waste
paint.
Using my trusty method
of achieving a non-dragging first coat by dipping the very
tips of my natural - bristle
brush into water before dipping into the

of milk -

Whilst areas
of the streams are still somewhat wet, randomly stipple / drop the mixture on, allowing the
paint, not the
brush, to form organic dappled shapes (to achieve this use a round - ish
tipped brush, ensure you have a decent amount
of paint on the canvas and flatten the
brush bristles out so they push the
paint — it just creates a more natural shape).
