Digging deep into the Marvel universe for some
of its more obscure
titles, Disney and Marvel pull
out this
comic which teams up 5 very unlikely heroes, including a talking raccoon and a walking / talking tree, who task themselves to save the galaxy from the likes
of an evil alien who wants to rule it.
I'm not going to spoil any
of the game's strange twists — but suffice it to say that the level and enemy design is based around an «everything but the kitchen sink» concept which would seem sloppy and desperate in a less entertaining and technically accomplished
title (koff...
Comic Jumper... koff), but here it just feels like the developers had so many great ideas that they couldn't bear to leave one
out of the game.
This is
out of character for Nissan, especially since the company was taken over by Renault and its bottom line - centric chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn, who assumed the same
title at Nissan and did so well he was featured as a superhero in a series
of Japanese
comic books.

of the best
titles in the industry and I'm incredibly proud
of that.
All
of the DC
Comics Superman
titles gained international exposure, reaching the top
of the
comics sales charts and selling
out overnight.
Point One # 1: As the
title so subtly suggests, this
comic is aimed at new readers who want to enjoy the Marvel universe without having to figure
out a whole tangle
of confusing continuity.
It's interesting that Viz's most popular
titles, Bleach and Naruto, usually make the Nook charts the week they come
out; there must be a substantial manga - reading community, which occasionally dwarfs the Peanuts fans and the folks who prefer free downloads
of action
comics featuring scantily clad ladies.
Many
comics benefit from the exposure
of being on a multi-publisher app or storefront, but Image has built an impressive audience with
titles like The Walking Dead and Saga and may be gambling that those readers will take the time to seek them
out on the new platform.
It separates
out nicely by publisher, too, with an Image
title in the top spot, followed by three DC
comics, and the rest
of the list is all Marvel.
While the new app is cloud - based, the cloud stored
titles are not organized by publisher and by author
of each edition, but are rather alphabetical by
title, which the Ihnatko points
out can be cumbersome for
comic fans whose collections are rather vast.
It's also true, though, that iBooks users aren't scrambling to get this week's new
comics; the only
title on the chart that came
out this week is The Walking Dead # 118, although it's true that the number 11 slot is pre-orders
of My Little Pony: Micro Series # 10 — Luna, which is
out next week.
Hoopla has an innovative model that has their entire catalog
of books and
comics available for online library lending, but the library only pays for the
titles that are checked
out.
The first nine
titles are all new
comics that came
out this week, but number 10 is one
of those Image graphic novels that was on sale over the weekend (the sale lasts till midnight on Monday, so you still have time to grab it).
Most importantly, we put
out a
comic that stands favourably beside some
of the best
titles in the industry and I'm incredibly proud
of that.
Ultimately, Ape Entertainment is on a mission to increase the awareness and reach
of the
comic book industry as a whole; while acknowledging that part
of that potential audience is looking for
titles like their previous work on Pocket God, there is still a growing segment who will actively seek
out the dynamic possibilities
of comics that can teach through these widely recognized playful monsters.

The only reason I buy any digital
comics at all is because there are certain
titles that have been
out of print for years.
And unlike a traditional,
comic shop - released
title — we never go
out of print.

I missed

of that
title and trying to find
out what has led us to the events
