When the
newest generation of consoles debuted at E3 two years ago, one
of the biggest gripes players had about them was that previous
titles were not supported.

generation hardware) and the MotorStorm series setting a
new standard for the genre.
With E3 just around the corner and rumors
of a

new generation of Xbox
consoles will include backwards compatibility with the 360's hundreds
of Xbox Live Arcade
titles.
Whether they'll be able to release Horizon 2 (or whatever it will be called) before the end
of the
generation is another matter entirely, with Sony believed to be gearing to launch PlayStation 5 between 2019 and 2020; this means there's a chance it could be a launch
title for the
new console, or possibly a cross-
generation game like The Legend
of Zelda: Breath
of the Wild.
Square Enix and Eidos - Montréal have just announced via the magic medium
of press release that a
new Thief game, brilliantly
titled Thief, will be coming to PS4, PC and is, «also planned for other next -
generation consoles.»
The Force Unleashed is LucasArts» first internally developed
title for next -
generation consoles, and it represents the first in - game collaboration

of the
console, not only could it provide a steady stream

new Deus Ex
title for future
generation consoles.

new console cycle has started strongly and demand for next -
generation games was higher than expected, the retail demand for prior -
generation games declined at a faster pace than the growth
of retail sales for next -
generation titles, resulting in the overall decline in sales in the retail distribution channels, down 7 % in North America & Europe YOY.
This
new console generation has, so far, been clinging resolutely to the past; the majority
of the Xbox One's launch
titles - including Assassin's Creed IV, Killer Instinct, Forza Motorsport 5, Dead Rising 3, Battlefield 4, Call
of Duty: Ghosts and Zoo Tycoon - were either sequels or reboots
of existing games.
And it's
New because it's part
of the same
generation as the
New 3DS XL:
consoles with slightly more power than their predecessors, a small additional analog stick called the C - Stick, and a handful
of exclusive
titles (most notably Xenoblade Chronicles and Binding
of Isaac: Rebirth).
