If God is revealed through Jesus, who said, «Father,
forgive them for they know not what they do,» and «love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you», and we are made in his image — how could a loving father that looks like Jesus want to predestine some to hell and some to heaven.
I also don't buy into the whole «I'm
forgiving them for myself, not them» argument, either.
The word from the cross, «Father,
forgive them for they know not what they do», gathers up many prior words in his teaching: «forgive us our debts as we forgive»; the declaration of forgiveness to the paralytic (Matthew 9:1 - 7); the word which is still part of the Gospel though a late addition to the Gospel record, «neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more» (John 8: 11).

If you're a Christian and believe in God then this billboard wouldn't bother you because you would have already
