I was a freelance IT consultant at the time, and most of my freelance work was filled by
going to events like this.
I can remember
going to events in law school that I had no interest in, but felt like I had to be there.
Looking for a woman to geek with on the couch, watching anime, series, movies and to
go to events with.
Instead
of going to events held for the general public, look for events that are specifically meant for singles to come together.
If one or both of you end up not feeling the other, it's very awkward to already have tickets to
go to an event together the following week.
When I say networking I'm not talking
about going to events and handing your resume or business card out to a hundred people.
Other times, you can
go to events such as job fairs and put yourself in a prime position to find others who can help you to expand your career.
I don't
go to events unless I'm genuinely interested in what's going on there (no «networking» events for sure).
The reason you should
go to an event early is that everyone who arrives after you will then have the opportunity to meet you.
I've never really had much of a
problem going to events around town, traveling to conferences or making friends at industry events.
Networking is so important and even though I am pretty outgoing I still get
nervous going to events where I don't know anyone!
Often shy
guys go to these events by themselves simply because they don't have anyone to go with, not because they actually want to be by themselves at all times.
Not everyone feels
comfortable going to an event by themselves, so many single women end up staying at home and missing opportunities to meet new people and potentially find a love interest.
Happy married couples have separate gatherings with friends, they travel separately, and
go to events without the other.
If you are ever in doubt
when going to an event and feeling nervous, it is definitely okay to slip out of high heels and opt for your favourite boots instead.
Sometimes it's things like picking out ornaments, making cookies, or
going to an event like seeing the lights.
I'm not taking that picture, I'm
not going to that event, I'm not standing by that because that's not what I stand for.
While the experience was incredible, I went to the race to see why
people go to these events and why sponsors and advertisers want to be part of the sport.
There's a lion's share of folks
who go to these events, with giant garbage bags, filling them up with samples.
However, not all
dogs go to events, since some are not comfortable in that setting, and many dogs don't reveal their true personalities at crowded events.
Definitely not something for prolonged diaper changes like overnight or
going to events where you won't be able to change as often.
I recently
went to an event at Anthropologie for my fellow Houston Blogger The Lone Star Looking Glass and while shopping this gorgeous off the shoulder floral number caught my eye.
Go to the event on Sunday, Dec 3, and you may be able to take it home for the price of admission.
