Taurus SHO brake system upgrades include a larger master cylinder, revised booster tuning
for improved pedal feel, larger front rotors with 19 percent more thermal mass and 67 percent more swept area to help brakes run cooler.
During testing, the Performance Brake package provided a 31 % reduction in pedal force at max deceleration, and 12 % reduction in pedal travel,
providing improved pedal feel.
We now have stiffer springs and engine mounts, new suspension arm bushes and brakes that have been «refined» with the aim
of improving pedal feel.
Across the board, all new Taurus models will receive a larger brake master cylinder with revised booster tuning, resulting in a shorter pedal ratio and
dramatically improved pedal feel.
Other new tech includes stop - start technology; and a redesigned brake system that shortens stopping distance and
improves pedal feel while increasing rotor and lining life.
Brake lines have been stiffened to
improve pedal feel.
We also were impressed with
the improved pedal feel from the redesigned brake system.
Over the past few months, engineers have stiffened the springs and engine mounts to improve handling, tweaked the brakes to
improve pedal feel, and made changes to software, Pook said.
