With Mega Man 9 and 10, there is also a system featured not unlike achievements or trophies — for example, if you can
make it through a level without getting hit or without stopping, you'll complete the challenge.
This is, actually, a really well - balanced game — you purchase upgraded weapons and buy new planes with cash you earn during missions, and different missions have main objectives and secondary objectives that earn you more cash to spend on upgrades; the secondary objectives are based on both skill (destroying additional targets) and speed (
making it through a level in a certain amount of time), meaning you really can customize the way you play the game.
And if you loved that methodical feel then you should also love Sneaky Sneaky, as aiming to
make it through each level entirely in stealth gives it that same sort of challenge.
Trying to
make it through a level within a specific time limit or failing a mission because you take any amount of damage are simply awful ideas and make progressing through Naughty Bear a painful experience.
One of the aspects that I really like about it is that if any of the attacking
enemies make it through the level instead of just loosing a life you also loose the value they were worth in gold, but then they come back through again so you get the chance to get your gold back.
Evil scientist Dr. Fetus has kidnapped her, and it is up to you to
make it through levels filled with rotating saws, fire, crumbling blocks and other perilous obstacles.
In a rather lame attempt to inject some variety into the game, you can replay some of the levels with different additional restrictions such as requiring that you scare all of the bears into killing themselves instead of killing them yourself, or that you must
make it through a level without being seen by the other bears.
I found that two player was fairly doable, but unless you want to aspire to the unholy amount of precision needed to
make it through a level with a bunch of other people taking up space, there's just no feasible way to make steady progress.
It just feels completely unrealistic and causes many issues while trying to
make it through a level.
During our demo, we played an area where watched the sphere roll on its own and had to carefully time the application of friction to slow it down at key moments to
make it through the level.
If you mange to
make it through the levels to have the chance to confront a boss, you will be pleased.
Sometimes you can save them all, but you will often have to decide on your survival over theirs in order to
make it through the levels.
The second player will need to move blocks, activate switches, and basically make it so that the first player can
make it through the level.
Beginning in the quest mode, your goal is simply to
make it through levels that throw hordes of enemies at you, sometimes in the hundreds.
Starting off each level with just a pistol (or another basic weapon), you must kill enemies to start spawning alternate weapon drops or power - ups that help
you make it through the level, because trust me, a pistol just isn't going to cut it.
As
you make it through the levels, you will find various power ups to help you on your quest.
The goal is to set enough traps to sabotage your opponents while leaving a clean route for yourself to
make it through the level and reach the goal.
