He has an incredible scoring record for a winger (and 90 % of his career has been there, while he had a good record
when playing through the middle as well).
I liked how Theo dropped off to the left in the FA Cup final and Alexis
played through the middle for a bit, if we had a right sided Alexis then Theo could do that on the right as well, such a fluid attacking line would be a nightmare to defend against.
The player brought in as replacement, was Abou Diaby, a man whose playing career was checkered with injury and in his early days, he was often placed on the left wing instead
of playing through the middle.
For a place on the wing he is obviously behind alexis and if perez does
n't play through the middle then I would say he is behind him too.
I think him and alexis playing as inverted wingers would play right into girouds lap (I mean head) ramsey could
then play through the middle or we could go with 2 box to box players and use the ox as one of them, he loves to run with the ball, that would allow coquelin or xhaka to sit deeper and protect the back 4.
ST — Okay, this is probably the trickiest of them all... having said that, we still have Giroud (VERY capable striker, IMHO), Walcott (he can be a 20 - goal player when fit), Welbeck (needs to come back healthy and fit, and given a run of a few games), and Alexis (can
play through the middle easily).
He's a little bit like a Cazorla slightly underrated both footed but a versatile wide forward who can also
play through the middle scores a lot of goals and assists.
I think he is the better fit there between Walcott, Sanchez, and Welbeck, but any of those three
playing through the middle requires a change in philosophy for the team with little reliance on holding the ball.
Welbeck's absence has left the Gunners short of options to lead the line for the next three months as only Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott have enjoyed
success playing through the middle in the past few seasons.
The summer signing from Bayer Leverkusen has been asked to
play through the middle by Mauricio Pochettino, affording Kane, who has started all of Tottenham's 22 Premier League games, a rest.
I think that is a clear sign that either he stays on the RW and
Walcott plays through the middle or that both of them will be on the wing with the immovable object still through the middle.
«He was the one who created the chances and I always said that he could
play through the middle because he has good movement, good finishing and he did that well today.
we might have the best players on paper but they had the best TEAM in reality and thats how it goes, wenger out klopp in to inspire the team with high paced brand of relentless pressing attacking width based football and master motivational skills we looked slow and one paced last night we need to inject with major pace this side in attacking 1/3 and stretch teams like the old days we try to
play through the middle where they were waiting for us over and over again.
I do not really see
Jose playing him through the middle, but on one of the flanks, so it will be as a replacement or competition for Willian or Cuadrado, with Eden Hazard a guaranteed starter.
Alternatively, with Giroud, Walcott and Welbeck all able to
play through the middle there's a chance that rather than an out and out striker we may see a new wide player come in, particularly if you consider that Oxlade - Chamberlain's future may well lie in midfield.
Two defensive midfielders and permanent 10 behind striker 3) We need a cdm to drive this team forward so we can
play through the middle since we thrive on possession.
The reason for playing Ozil on the wing (same as Ramsey)- when a central player loses form or confidence playing on the wing can help because a teams usual response to Arsenal is to pack its midfield and stop Arsenal
from playing through the middle.
