I'd reconsider
wearing on the plane for the simple reason, if you need to go to the restroom, the space is very limited.
For my travel, European or domestic, I always pack (
usually wear on plane) a black, mid-weight hooded cashmere cardigan.
But I like to travel with a warm cardigan as well: not just for the cool but not raining days, but to use as a robe in my room, and to
wear on the plane which is often freezing... sometimes light layers are just not sufficient, and one great sweater is all it takes to make me happy.
The O.G. of fancy sheet masks that has been no less recommended to us by three Victoria's Secret Angels (and Cate Blanchett) who have no fear
of wearing them on planes.
I will have to pack a caftan to
wear on the plane ride home as I am sure none of my clothes will fit me after so many treats!
Mine would be a longer, boyfriend style cardigan, with pockets, and I would
wear it on the plane because they are always freezing, and I would wear it in the hotel room over my sleepwear, as well as on the street if if was cool.
For a really early start, I'll put them to bed in the (comfortable but cute) outfit they'll
wear on the plane, and my travel clothes are those that feel like stretch pants and sweats without actually being them.
I always bring one pair of sneakers that
I wear on the plane, as well.
Since buying it a few weeks ago, I've
worn it on the plane to LA, out to the movies, and at the office.
To prevent the dreaded ankle and leg swelling, make sure you pack some compression socks and
wear them on the plane and even when you plan on doing a lot of walking.

One question I don't think you have touched on: what do
you wear on the plane?
I usually limit myself to three pairs (including what
I wear on the plane) but may sneak in a fourth, something that will be better suited to wet days.
A big poncho + leggings are my favorite outfit to
wear on planes, lazy days, or feeling under the weather in the fall / winter temperatures.
I also create a list of what needs to be brought on the plane, what I'll be
wearing on the plane, as well as all the toilet trees I will need.
I wore it on the plane, on the streets and even dressed up to go out at night and it kept me so warm and made me feel so stylish!
Add Taos sneakers in a metallic color and either tall boots in cooler seasons that
I wear on the plane with leggings or a pair of sturdy semi-sandals such as Eileen Fisher Iris.
