Not exact matches
Baking powder would give it more «lift», but
without the internal structure of something to hold it all
together (usually it's the gluten in
wheat flour that supports a lot of the structure)... it would just deflate, creating essentially the same thing.
The chocolate chips and raisins taste great
together (although you can skip the raisins if you prefer), and the whole
wheat flour adds to the flavor and texture
without making them taste like health food.
These flavors go so well
together, I may have to make something similar (
without wheat germ of course) before my next hike.
