While my body does not
tolerate nightshades (which a potato is, and why some diets and people with certain inflammatory health issues shouldn't consume them) I do believe in their nutritional content and I do have one once a month or so for the taste.

Bell peppers are a member of the
nightshade family and although some people don't
tolerate digesting them well, they are considered paleo as most people don't experience any ill effects and only benefit from their high nutrient content.

Nightshades have basically a poison in them that can't be
tolerated by everyone.
While some animals
tolerate grains and veggies from the
nightshade family well, your dog who is already suffering from itchy inflammation can't handle the extra inflammation caused by these foods.
