It is filled with chopped lettuce, cucumber, and red onion, sun dried
tomatoes, chickpeas
instead of the
hummus sometimes served on sabich, roasted slices of eggplant, hard boiled eggs, and arguably the best part - spiced and toasted strips of pita.
If you can not find truffle of any sort, don't like it or do not want to use it, flavor up this
hummus with 4 - 5 halves of dried
tomatoes in olive oil, and use a tbsp of the
tomato oil
instead of the truffle oil.
Even though I'm not that much of a
hummus fan myself (my favorite version is with
tomato sauce and peanut butter
instead of tahini so...).
