Another $ 3.5 - billion plant
planned for Sweetwater, Tex., would burn pulverized coal to generate 600 MW
of electricity while capturing its 5.75 million metric
tons of emissions postcombustion with amine or ammonia scrubbers or, possibly, with
advanced membranes that separate CO2 from other flue gases.
In conclusion, I would recommend future FN students to
plan ahead early so they can get Anne Frank House tickets (they come out 2 months in
advance), walk around all
of the canal streets (since there are
tons of excellent restaurants and shopping), visit the Red Light District (just for the experience), and stay more than 2 nights if possible - it definitely was not enough with how much you could do!
Concerns have already been expressed by the «Energy Task Force» that the
planned pellet inventory level for the
advanced biomass Thunder Bay plant will only be 15,000
tons of pellets; enough to produce about 25,000 MWh but in a cold snap could be fully utilized in a few days.
