film could most use some tightening, rich
as it is with social and sensual detail; its rheumy - eyed gaze
takes in everything from bizarre spider - racing rituals to tender declarations of love

Taking the
film on its own material terms, there's a perverse frisson of pleasure — of sweet, egregiously unequal justice — to be had in watching two people this immaculately beautiful finally unite in quite such accordingly beautiful fashion, and it's here where James (once more acting
as producer) and the filmmakers have us right where they want us.
With her role in the The Hulk
as well
as with this
film, Jennifer has proven that she can
take on any role from any genre and inject the passion it needs to make it credible.
As you might guess from the featurette titles, these cover the
film's look and visual design, conceptualizing and putting together the Batmobile and its use in the
film, physical props and elements, ideas and execution of the Batsuit, Nicholson's
take on the Joker and his makeup / costume, and the flick's score.
While those who enjoyed the Brooks book will likely be chagrined at seeing little of what they enjoyed show up
on the big screen,

on its own terms
