top Canadian
prize to a
documentary,» said TFCA President Brian D. Johnson.
The four
top jury
prizes at Sundance 2010 were awarded Saturday night to Debra Granik's «Winter's Bone» for best U. S. drama, Sebastian Junger and Tim Hetherington's «Restrepo» for U. S.
documentary, David Michôd's «Animal Kingdom» for world drama, and Mads Brügger's «The Red Chapel» for world
documentary.

top films in both the narrative and
documentary categories differ from the ones that took home the grand jury
prizes, which singled out «I don't feel at home in this world anymore» and «Dina» in the American categories.

prize at Cannes; and Cristi Puiu's «Sieranevada,» winner of the
top prize at this year's Chicago International Film Festival.
The Laos adventure The Rocket and the Afghanistan War
documentary The Kill Team have taken
top prizes at the Tribeca Film Festival.
That
top prize was given to a film called Fire at Sea, a
documentary from filmmaker Gianfranco Rosi about migrants crossing the Mediterranean and the refugee crisis affecting Europe and the Middle East.
It recounts such a fascinating, absorbing, and instructive tale, full of delayed revelations and subtle pleasures, that the jury unanimously gave it the
top prize, citing it as both the best
documentary and the best narrative film.
Cassoni's effort to forestall the coal mining is the subject of a
documentary being shot by Michael O'Connell, the filmmaker from North Carolina best known for his
prize - winning 2008 film «Mountain
Top Removal.»
