I used regular paint instead of spray paint and applied it with a brush because I didn't want it to have that perfectly sprayed finish and I used an exterior paint because it would be durable enough to hold up to wear and water on the top of the dresser, but wouldn't have to be sealed.

I used Americana Decor Chalky Finish paint in Everlasting for the base and Serene for the top of the stool.

I have the same question as Patty M. I have painted my hutch black (Valspar - Lowes satin finish) but don't have a top coat on it as it looks too shiny - So please do share once painted did you use a soft wax (Lowes paint department had never heard of this stuff??)

Begin by painting the sides and top of the chest of drawers with a furniture paint that has a chalky finish.

I want to do it in green and then tape out a large diamond lattice and paint a lighter green on top, finished off with hand painted flowers in the center of some (all?)

I stenciled «Tucson Arizona Territory» on top just for fun, and finished the paint off with a thin coat of wax, which went on easily and buffed out fast.

After I finished painting the legs, I sprayed the top of the table with a couple coats of spray primer, and a couple of coats of Heirloom White - colored spray paint.
