we've seen HTC logo on
top side of the handset on some of the earlier leaked renders.
What looks like a stylus hole on
the top side of the handset can also be seen.
Not exact matches
The power - on button is located on the right
side of the phone, at the
top most part
of the
handset.
One quirk with the design was the decision to put the power button along the right
side of the device instead
of on
top like almost every other
handset, and it took a little getting used to.
On the software
side, the
handset ships with Android Lollipop out
of the box, as well as HTC's latest Sense 7.0 on
top.
The right
side of the
handset houses a small power button up
top and a camera launch / shutter key on the bottom right.
If you might recall, in mid-January, we saw the first press shot leak
of the HTC One (M7), which has carried a quite different design with grille designs
of the stereo speakers on both the
top and bottom
sides of the
handset.
Two antenna lines cross the Axon 7's
top and bottom, and on the
sides sit a gleaming power button, volume rocker, and combination SIM / Micro SD Card tray
of the same color and reflectivity
of the
handset's unibody.
While the bezels on either
side of the screen are relatively thin, the
top bezel, which contains a front facing camera, speaker (for phone calls) and Sony logo, and the bottom bezel, that features a microphone, are both rather large, which gives the feeling that the
handset is slightly longer than necessary.
The power button and volume rocker are located on the right - hand
side of the
handset within easy reach, and considering the size
of the screen I'm pleased that the power button isn't placed on the
top of the
handset, as it would be a bit more
of an uncomfortable stretch to reach it.
The current iteration
of the
handset has 1.8 mm bezels on the
top, left and right - hand
side, and a 4.3 mm one on the bottom.
You'll notice other peculiar things too, such as the chamfered edges, which feature four strategically placed breaks at the
top of the
handset and on the
sides near the modular attachment.
The sheer size
of the Galaxy Note 3 means you'll be constantly shuffling it up and down your palm as you try and reach the volume rocker and power / lock keys located towards the
top on the left and right
sides of the
handset and the menu keys below the screen.
The
handset does have the one - button volume control on one
side though, and the HTC Wildfire's power / screen - lock button sits on the
top of the
handset alongside the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The left
side of the Motorola Moto G is devoid
of any features, while the
top of the
handset only sports a centralized headphone jack.
The images
of the Pixel 2
handset in cases posted to Mobile Fun also suggest that the Pixel 2's screen will stretch even further, cutting the bezel on the
top, bottom and
sides of the phone down by half.
Featuring a sleep / power button on the
top of the
handset, the HTC Explorer's upper right
side plays host to the classic volume up and volume down controls.
Sure, the
sides are rounded so it's easy to grip but the
top and bottom
of the
handset feature — gasp — corners with actual right angles.
We have a large display dominating the front
side of the
handset, with minimal
side and
top bezels.
