Although I don't love maternity clothes,
this top was a leftover from my first pregnancy that I decided to pull out for the last few weeks of pregnancy.

Sweet, chewy, easy —
leftovers of these can also
be used, crumbled up as a
topping for a baked cobbler, added to a sour cream coffee cake as the streusel.
This makes more than you need for the Apple Muffin recipe, which
is good as you can add large spoonfuls of the
leftovers on
top of yogurt or cultured buttermilk in the morning.
I believe frittatas qualify for any of the three meals of the day and sometimes I eat
leftover salad with an egg on
top for breakfast so all
is permissible.
If anyone
is curious, you can absolutely take
leftovers for lunch — I just sprayed a shallow Tupperware that fits them comfortably with nonstick spray, made sure the rolls didn't touch each other, and put some damp paper towels right on
top of them before I shut the lid.
When thoroughly chilled,
being careful not to shake, open up the two cans of straight coconut milk and (depending on whether you have opened the can with the cream or liquid layer at the
top) either tip off the coconut water into a glass and scoop out the coconut cream that
is left into a bowl, or scoop the coconut cream off the
top to a bowl and pour the
leftover coconut water into a glass (save the coconut water to drink or put in a smoothie).
My Thanksgiving
leftover favorite has always
been what I call simply a Thanksgiving sandwich, which
is constructed from nothing but
leftovers: dinner rolls sliced in half and toasted,
topped with turkey, stuffing, and cranberry dressing.
Here

leftover stuffing!!
Other uses for the
leftover vinegar flowers would
be as a
topping on a sandwich, on a salad, or anywhere you would use any pickled vegetable.
While cooking for one comes out on
top for complexity in the kitchen, cooking for two can
be just as problematic — especially if you aren't big fans of
leftovers.
Note:
Leftover glaze can
be used for ice cream
topping, in salad dressings, as a glaze for any meat or fish, in a dipping sauce.
These look lush, I'd never thought of making something like this with
leftover meat but think I'll give it a try... love the look of the melted cheese on
top too, it
's making me feel hungry!
The
leftovers are still good the next day if you don't add the dressing to the
top.
Then I'll sometimes use
leftover proteins from dinner to add on
top, and if I
'm lucky and have a ripe avocado I will throw that on too!
There
are hardly any
leftovers, but when there
are, I love to
top a scoop of these potatoes with a over-easy egg for a fun breakfast.

toppings) to save for the next time.

's topped with grilled chicken, but it would
be even better with sliced grilled Andouille sausage or

I did NOT halve the filling or the
topping, you will use all the filling in the rolls and you'll have
leftover topping but that stuff
is good on everything so feel free to stash it in your fridge or freezer for the next time you want to jazz something up with a bit of streusel on

Remembering that I had some
